As I was about to hit up the Shmack Fashion Show at the A:loft last night, I was treated to something I never expected, thanks to Z104! Kid Cudi is finally gettin some air play in VA, thanks to jocks like Anna over at Z104. When I was booking acts in college, my girl DJ Roxy outta NYC kept telling me that I needed to get this dude in for a quick set at my college before he blew up. I was all about the idea, but I didn't think Cudi's killer talent would be appreciated by the Central PA peeps. Even though he never made the journey to PA, I kept following his story. I'm def stoked that he is now starting to get accepted into the mainstream, props to stations like Z104. At the fashion show I was chillin with Excel for a quick minute and he was tellin me that Cudi is bangin in all the LA clubs. I just hope his song, Day N Night has some staying power! If LA is playin all his stuff I'm sure VA clubs will come around, even if it's not until summer.

Here's the deal...I've been fortunate to work with/meet many movers and shakers in the music industry. I will be hitting up these folks to learn a little more about their lifestyle. I thought I would start this series off with one of most down to earth dudes out there: DJ Excel. He was kind enough to spin at one of my 'Blend' parties with Shmack Clothing. Ladies are a tuff one. LA has the eye candy, but most of wat I seen are just that, they have 0 personality. Now I'm sure there's better ones here but I haven't seen them yet. I've also just been in the clubs, so u know what u get wen ur in that enviorment.
Philly is sketchy. We're at a short for good looking girls, but I've been fortunate to have my fair share back home.
As of now, 3 days in LA, I have to go wit my home team, philly chicks. The lack of personality takes away from the big titty, video chicks appeal.

Hip hop - Ron Browz. He's on fire rite now.

House music - sad to say, kid cudi. Don't get me wrong I love the song, but these fools are a year & some months late. We've been played that track out & now its catching on & is on the radio & in the clubs everywhere.
Bmore club - dj class' I'm the shit. Its amazing to see bmore club being accepted in a global scale. Again, we been runnin wit it. So its like waiting for the tortoise @ the finish line wen u been here for years. But hey, welcome to the celebration! We're all still jammin!

Were you more interested in the commercials or the actual game? The were both very intriguing, but the game wins this time. Their were some good commercials but overall I am pretty disappointed. Doritos put together a competition to design a commercial and if that commercial ran you won $25,000 and if it was awarded the number one commercial by USA Ad Meter you won another $1 million! Well congrats go out to Dave and Joe Herbert, you won't have to wait on that unemployment check this month! But next time be more creative, you took my favorite commercial that I laugh at every time it comes on and did your own thing.

I was fortunate enough to stumble upon PostSecret years ago. PostSecret, in my opinion, is one of the coolest ideas I've seen on the net. PostSecret is an ongoing community mail art project, created by Frank Warren, in which people mail their secrets anonymously on one side of a homemade postcards. So I am just getting home from a trip to Shmack Clothing headquarters. I met up with Todd Askins, the mastermind behind all things Shmack, to pick up a couple items from their Spring 1 line. While there I had the chance to see a quick photo session for their line of accessories they are releasing this spring. With duffle bags, camera/phone cases, watches, and hats they definitely are not holding things back in these tough times. Bringing the heat for sure!
